At the stone ner the 44 th-l?th New York, monumentwhich bears the inscription “Strong Vincent feu here July 2, 1863/’ Sheads recalled that then Col. Strong Vincent was taken to the Bushman farm after being wounded, and died there. At the same time Mrs.Bushman was giving birth to a son. whom she named ' Strong Vincent Bushman.” Sheads said the widow of Strong Vincent, who was nameda general just before he died, sent a cup to Strong Vincent Bushman. The local historian said he Is seeking to discover what became of the cud.
