F. w. conducted our first countrywide distribution of Buddy Pop* pies, this annual activity has become one oi the traditional observances of Memorial Day. Commander Larson stated. f*The V. F,W. Buddy Poppy has a place hi the heart of every man and woman who remembers the World war. It not only memorializes the sacrifices made by the two million American boys and men who served overseas in that war, but It represents a riebt of honor which the people of America will always owe to those who defended our national principles In 1917 and 1918.’'Hie entire proceeds of this Buddy Poppy sale, ever since it was established in 1922 by the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United Slates, have been devoted to this work among veterans and their fiitnillcvL The money helps to maintain our V. F. W. national home at Eaton Rapids, Mich., where- are housed approximately 200 orphaned son* and daughters of deceased veterans. This money helps support our local, state and national rehabilitation programs among veterans; it goes into direct relief for veterans' families in the form of food, clothing, medical care and necessities.
