CpL Dean E. Vance, son of Mr. and .Mrs. Ross Vance, was released last week from the Marines. Dean entered the Marines November S. 1942. He received His boot trailing as San Diego. Calif, and was then appointed as an Instructor roi amphibian trucks and tractors at Ocean Side. Calif. He was sent overseas April 4.1945 and served at Guam, and Japan and then sent to Northern Chinn, where he served until returning home. Dean says his sympathy goes out to the poor hungry children and elderly people ol China. Homeless children made orphans by the war eat from the garbage thrown iout by the service men. And old people fall on their faces in the street because thev are starved.
