Mr. Fisher Speaks♦The address to the Senior Class was delievered by a; distinguished Western alumnus, Mr. Leo A. Fisher, ’28, prominent business man of St. Louis. He was formerly Chairman of the Highway Commission, and at present is Chairman of the Bi-StateI lDeveloping Agency, which has taken over mass transportation in the St.iLouis area. He is also a director of several banks, companies, firms, and other organizations.4Mr. Fisher’s address was full of sound advice and common sense, flavored with a dash of humor.He said that a person will need the help of others to get along in this complicated world of today. He pointed out the fallacy of the theory that “nice guys finish last.” He added, “It does not work out that way. The nice guys lead a happier and a more productive life, and I hope it will always be that way.” Explaining the hostile world, which is full of fear with nations armed, Mr. Fisher pointed out that it is impossible to predict the future. This situation forces people to rely upon each other for help and guidance. He advised, “Learn toget along with people.”
