City Pilot of U2 Saved By His ParachuteAn Arkansas City pilot of a Maj. Victor L. Milam, 37, U2 reconnaissance Air Force was on a training flight from plane, commonly krtown as the Davte-Mofttftan Air Fuiil' 9mm “spy plane/' parachuted to in Tucson at the time of the safety Tuesday |utt before his mishap, plane crashed in southeastern Maj. Milam is the son of Mr. Arizona. and Mis. Milton H. Milam, 515MAJ. VICTOR MILAMN. First St.The major is a 1949 graduate of Arkansas City Hgh School and also is a graduate of Cowley County Community JuniorCollege.He had learned to fly during the summer months between school terms at Strother Field, and he entered the Air Force after completing junior college here.His wife and two children live in Tucson.Maj. Milam has beendecorated with the Air Medal and oak leaf cluster.Attached to the Strategic Air Command, he is a veteran of the Vietnam war.
