ter so many nave ennsteu. This is all explained in a bulletin sent out by Adjutant General Logan, substantially as follows: When thecall was made last winter for 500,000 more men, comprising the second draft call since the beginning of the war, it was determined that Greene county’s quota for this half million was 158 men. These were to be called at various periods up to the first of June. Thirty-four men were sent to Camp Dodge three weeks ago; 10 more went to the Sweeney Auto School in Kansas City late in March; 14 more went to Jefferson Barracks last week. This makes a total of men as listed above of about fifty-eight, which means that if the entire second call is to be'filled now, Greene county’s remaining quota would be 100 men. In the meantime, however, there have been about sixty-six enlistments and Greene county has received credit for these, cutting the number now to be sent, to complete the quota, down to-thirty-four.Some counties have had more volunteers, or enough to make up their entire quota on this last call, so they send no men at this time. It ist only on the last quota of a call that credits are given. Some other counties have sent practically no volunteers, and are compelled to send a hundred or more men at once. For instance little | j Monroe county must send ninety-eight men now; Wapello 66, and others with less population and area than Greene | ^ often more than double its number of men in this last call of the quota.Following is the official list to go next week. Some of them may be called for some special service, and if called to such service before May 25 others will be called to take their 11 places, and the county will be given credit in the next call.John F.
