H. B. Bassett Perished In Jet Crash Thursdayi»III Bradford B.»sm ftMr and Mrs. Lowell A. Bassett of Inspiration, have been notified of the death of their son, LTJG Harmon Bradford Bassett, on May IS, 1954, near Summerville, SouthCarolina.Lt. Bassett was a Naval Jet pilot attached to the USS Coral Seas and was flying a naval Jet combat plane from Jacksonville, Florida to Norfolk, Virginia when his plane crashed. The cause is not known.Lt. Bassett was bom August 15. 1931, at Omaha and graduated from East Globe School, and from Mar- Ken High School. Hollywood, where he was valdictorian of his class. In June, 1951, he graduated from the University of Southern California with highest honors On graduation from U8C, he was commissioned an Ensign in the US Navy and spent one year on the USS Begor in Pacific and Koreanwaters. #He Missed his examination for the Naval Air Force while stationed in Korea and received his wings at Pensacola Naval Air Station. Florida, in April, 1953,He was married May 16, 1953, to Marilyn Hardy, in Beverly Hills, California.Funeral arrangements are pending. ;•
