FIRST WOUNDED IN WAR IS MURDEREDNEW ORLEANS, La., May 19, — (I.NT.S )—Death at the hands of the ' pretty French wife who nursed him j back to health in 191S, came yesterday to Edgar Bouligny, 43, a photographer, the first American to be wourded in France during the World war.Mrs. Delia. Bouligny, S7, shot and killed her husband shortly after midnight in their tiny apartment in the artists’ section of the Vieux Cnrr . She surrendered to police and old them she slew her husband when he advanced on her with clenched fists.Shot four times in France as a member of the Lafayette Escadrille, Boul gny was officially designated the fmst American to be wounded in the World war. He married the girl who nursed him back to health in Paris and then returned with her to New Orleans, hero.Mrs. Bouligny, sobbing 1n broken French accent, told police of the slaying.He always beat me. Many times he said be would kill me, and yesterday morning be threatened again.I was so afraid he would. I ran and got th* pistol. I fired; I do not knot? how many times—maybe three'.
