Local airman chosen for Texas trainingSAN ANTONIO-Airman Kenneth Istre, son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel R. Istre of Rt. 2,Kenneth istreJennings, has been selected for technical training at Sheppard AFB, Tex., in the Air Force civil engineering structural and pavements field.The airman recently completed basic training at Lackland AFB, Tex., and studied the Air Force mission, orgainzation and customs and received special instruction in human relations. Completion of this training earned the individual credits towards an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.Airman Istre is a 1977 graduate of Jennings High School.
