Cool Spring ManDies In AccidentIn PhilippinesPtit;peGfrCorporal Charles Miller, ,son oi Mr, and Mrs. Henry Miller, who lives near Cool Spring, was accidentally killed on April 19 in the Philippines, his parents learned from a War Department telegramMonday.Mr. and Mrs. Miller received their first indication of the tragedy that had occurred in a strange way. Last Wednesday they received a cable of sympathy signed by John Mitchell saying, “May the Lord sustain you in your great loss”. The message disturbed them deeply, and they tried to find out more about it. A suggestion that a “sympathy'’ cable had been sont them by mistake instead of a Mother’s Day greeting was the orilv comfort thev could find. However, the War Department telegram destroyed their cherished hope.Apparently some comrade of Corporal Miller's, not realizing how slowly War Department ofii cial announcements travel, had sent the cable, thinking Mr and Mrs Miller had already received the dread news.ai01tf
