The soldier train consisting of 4S1 men and fifteen officers included (Companies I. K. I*. and the suppK train. Whistles shrieked, bells rank, people cried, laughed, cheered and shouted as the bovs with heads9out of windows entered thecity.Davenport is giving the ' biggest demonstration for the heroes ever known inthe city. Tho soldiers marched Ihrough tho streets banked by hundreds of people, to a hotel where they wore given breakfast.The monster celebration resolved itself Into great public street dance Soldiers were torn from the rank of the marching columns by girl and dragged to the dance.Governor Harding and Adj. (Jen Uisher were among tho officials hero to welcome the returned heroes. The outfit left here from Waterloo, and will reach Den Moines tonight.m'UUQl’E.
