Died of Wounds—Above is a recent picture of Pfc. John W. (Jake) Harris, who died March 19, from wounds received while fighting in Germany.He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Harris, of Postoak, and was a member of the 142nd In-antry, Co. H and Q of the famous 36th Division.He had been wounded three times previously, when his parents received the Purple Heart.-o-SGT. AVIS GRAHAM HAS RECOVERED FROM WOUNDSSgt. Avis C. Graham, Co. C,206th Engineers, who is with Patton’s 3rd Army in Germany, has been awarded the Purple Heart for slight wounds received in action, but is reported recovered and back to his duties. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. B. M. Graham, Bowie, and has been overseas 18 months.
