POST 139 OFFormal announcement was made today of the purchase by Sullivan American Legion Post 139 of the Fred F, Bays home on North Section Street. The purchase includes the beautiful grounds surrounding the home, it was also announced and the deal, consummated recently will provide one of the outstanding Legion headquarters, club rooms and recreational facilities in the state for the rapidly expandingTlocal post.The acquisition of this idealhome for the local Legion organization was made possible through a three-way transaction, Legion officials said. The Sullivan F.lks Lodge some time ago purchased the former Legion Home in North Court Street which they have turned over to the city, rent free for the period of ten years, for the establishment of a ’teen canteen here. Mr. Bays, who has always been a booster of the local Legion, inturn cooperated with the localpost by agreeing to the Sale ofIds property, generously offeringit to the Legion at a very reasonable price, it was revealed.Extensive plans have already oeen mode by Post 139 to improve the commodious groundsat the Bays home and to ready the building for various im-| provements in the near future.
