!■ *ooby»•' iesTrapped PfcInFarA Hulmeville soldier, burnedby a Viet Cong booby trap on Wednesday, died Monday after noon in an Army Hospital in Yokohama, Japan.An Army sergeant called on Mrs. Claire K. Clampffer of 109 Trenton Road yesterday to inform her that her son, Robert,20, had succumbed to pneumonia that resulted from the burns. A telegram received earlier had stated that Pfc. Clampffer had been struck by the blast of a white phosphorous booby trap which inflicted second and thirddegree burns over 35 per cent of his body, including his face, neck and back.The soldier suffered the injurywhile on an infantry operation with the 11th Infantry Brigade based at Chu Lai.A Bensalem High School gradPFC. Clampffer arrived in Vietnam in January.A family spokesman said the Hoffmann Funeral Home of 1770 Brown Ave., Cornwells Heights, will handle the funeral arrange ments. It is not known when thebe returned from Japan.There will be a military funeral and interment will be in the national cemetery, Beverly, N.J. if there is available space.Pfc. Clampffer is also sur vived by his father, Raymond C1 a m p f f e r of Trenton; four brothers, Raymond Jr., a Viet nam veteran; of Andalusia; Wil liam of Andalusia; Edward and Joe, both at home; two sisters. Mrs. Evelyn Barats of Edding ton and Miss Delores Clampffer at home this maternal grand mother, Mrs. Clara Kist of Tre vose; his maternal great grandmother, Mrs. Sarah Moore of Philadelphia, and four nieces.
