Sinclair of Southwest Harbor, has been appointed Special Services Officer at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Aberdeen, M.D.He came to APG in May 1955 as recreation director of special services, and in September 1966 he «8 named deputy chief of the special services office. Last week he was presented a sustained superior work performance award for his work while serving as deputy chief.Mr. Sinclair served as a second lieutenant in the army from 1953 to 1955 following graduation from the University of Maine,where he received a bachelor ofscience degree in physical education and recreation.While in the army, he was stationed in Europe, assigned as special services officer in Karlsruhe and Kaiserslautern, Germany with the 12th AAA Group. While there he helped coach the organization's football team to the 1954 USAREUR championship.His athletic experience dates back to his high school days at Pemetic high school, where he lettered in basketball and baseball for four years, and in track flt;v two. He was salutatorian of hi? graduating class.At the University of Maine he lettered in basketball for fotn years, baseball and football for two years and in track one year. He was named to the Phi Kappa Phi Honor society, and was s.member of the Tau Kappa Epsilonfraternity. He also is a member lt;the National Recreation association, American Recreation soeietj and the Maryland society.During his college days, Mr. Sinclair was employed at the Causeway Country club as a swimming instructor, life guard and golf course manager.Mr. Sinclair, his wife, the former Miss Sylvia Webster also of Southwest Harbor, and their three daughters.
