Larncd May Also Be Defense Housing AreaLarncd — The possibility that Larncd may become a defense housing area is arising with announcement that the Bureau of Mines is considering Lamed as a potential housing outlet for men employed at the new helium plant now being built near Otis, 25 miles due north of here,A considerable number of the workmen employed at the Great Bend army air base, about 22 miles northeast of here, also arc living here.Marvin Sallee, president of the Chamber of Commerce, said A1 Gosnell, representing the U. S, Bureau of Mines had advised that the men seeking to locate their families here are engineers and supervisors and other officials of the new* plant The Stearns-Roger Co., general contractors on the new plant, and other employers are also interested in seeking housing here for their employes.*
