Tribune Star staef reportSullivan County recorded a 36 percent voter turnout for the primary election, and a close turnout in hotly con tested sheriffs races in bothparties.On the Republican ballot. Patrick Fulford received 573votes or 50.48 percent while Johnnie Waterman received 562 votes for 49.52 percent.On the Democrat ballot.receivedmajority votes of 1.138 for28.27 percent. David RayHaddix received 1,114 for 27.68 percent of the votes,while Jim Pirtle received 1.109 votes for 27.55 percent, and Billy Sneed received 664votes for 16.50 percent.In the Democrat race forfudge of Superior Court. Hugh R. H R. Hunt received 1,982 votes while Ann SmithMischler received 1,953. NoRepublican candidate has filed for the fall race.long time prosecutor Bob Hunley II received 2.817 votes in the Circuit Court|udge race.
