Many from Our AreaAt Air Force AcademyACCEPTANCE by one of the service academies has long been one of the peak honors that can come to a student. When one small area away from metropolitan centers produces eight undergraduates almost at one time at one of the academies, it’s a testimonial beyond reason.It’s happened here in regard to the Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs.When Philip Schmitt of Sidney, Robert Hamm of Oneonta and Robert Williams of Cooperstown were accepted for the Class of 1968 at the AF Academy last week it brought the number of cadets or soon-to-be-ca-dets from Otsego, Delaware and Schoharie counties to eight.Scheduled to be graduated this June are Anthony Co-vais of Burlington Flats and James McIntyre of Sidney.In the class of 1966 are William Kemp of East Worcester;* Philip Parker of Hancock and Paul Raymond of Deposit. In the class of ’66 is Connie Teetz of Schoharie.These are our representatives in a cadet corps of 2,500. Quite obviously we have more than our share but as our local chapters of Mothers Unlimited could tell us, we have an exceptional crop of young men growing up around us. We’re honored, but the situation speaks well Cor the Air Force Academy too.
