Kackley entered service on j Feh 14. 1944. and went overseas . last November. Two brothers are rin the service. They are Pfc. George Kackley, stationed with the pajlt;itroopers, at FI. Benninfi, Ga., and James Kackley, S 2/c. in a • radio school at Camp Bradford,; Norfolk. Va.! Sgt. Williams .a paratrooper, was 'killed shortly after going into com-jbat for the first time. He entered the army in September, 1943, and received his basic training at Camp Wheeler. Ga. He spent one year in Panama and received his wings at Fort Benning, Ga. He went overseas in January. He was horn in Zanesville. His father, Corp. Robert N. Williams, is in the engineers aviation battalion serving in the South Pacific. A brother, Pfc, Robert Lee Williams, is in France with a paratroop battalion. He also leave his sister. Miss Marjorie Williams of Columbus and j his maternal grandmother. Mrs. [Lydia Adams of Warren,Sgt. Phillips was the son of Mr. land Mrs. George Phillips of St.| Louis, Mo. He has been in service |for three years and has spent IS I months overseas. A radio technic-jian, he has visited on many occasions in Zanesville. His sister. Miss Betty Phillips of St. Louis has been a guest of the Fews for several weeks.This is the second time Corp. Bauman has been wounded in action.Sgt. Archer, son of Mr .and Mrs. Eastman Archer of Cleveland, formerly of Caldwell, was wounded !for the third time. A paratrooper he was first wounded in Italy and later in France. He has been awarded the Bronze Star medal with the Oak Leaf cluster as well as the Purple Heart. He Is married and has a four-month-old daughter.A graduate of Caldwell high school, he attended Marietta college and prior to his induction was [employed by the Reliance Engineering Co, Cleveland. His mother is the former Mary Clark of Noble county, and he is the grandson of the late state senator. Judge M. B. Arc her, of Caldwell.His grandmother resides in Caldwell.Lt. Barrett has been serving wi*h the infantry in Itajy. He has received the combat infantryman's badge. He is a former football star of Wilberforce universityLt. Col. Sluga’s mother, Mrs. Philippino Siuga, lives in Cleveland. He is a graduate of Belle Valley high school. A \eteran member of the 355th fighter group, he went overseas in July, 1943, as a squadron operation officer and took command of his squadron in August, 1944. He wears the Flying Cross with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Air Medal and the Polish Cross of Valor.
