craft carrier USS America.Fairgame is conducted annually between U.S. Sixth Fleetand French naval forces to provide tactical training in conducting air, amphibious and naval operations, as well as defense methods against them.The three - phase exerise began with U.S. and French carrier task forces training in combined support operations. Participating French and U.S.air and submarine forces provided mock opposition to the carriers.Phase two consisted of individual shipexerises inwhichFrench and U. S. observers were exchanged for orientation and indoctrination.The final pahse of Fair-game was a two-nation amphibious landing at Santa Manza, Corsica, supported by a fast carrier task force andVopposed by French and U. S. submarine, land and air forces.
