The prisoner wore heavy iron bracelets on his ankles and his hands were tiound together with heavy leather bands buckled tightly and linked together with u chain. A leather strap was buckled around the prisoner’s neck. To this strap was a long rope, passing down between the prisoner's legs. The o(Beers walked behind holding to the rope and drove the prisoner in front of them. The officers announced that they were from Texas and their prisoner was Henry Humble, arrested at Palestine several weeks ago as the murderer of David Reed, colored, who was killed at Warner Furnace. Hickman County, about eighteen months ago. The prisoner denies that he is Humble, and said his name was William Fincher.
