Trooper Franklin Milburn, who investigated, said tlic cars hit absolutely dead center, with the front ends of both cars folding up like accordions. He said the cars stopped instantly, apparently without spinning an Inch.'Hie drivers were apparently killed by impact wiUi the steering wheels. State Police said this figure is sllghUy behind last year’s total.The grass fire was reported by a spokesman for Uie Myersville Fire Co. as being a minor fire which was quickly brought under control.A Rockville man died In a Carroll County traffic accident on Md. 27, just souUi of Taylorsville early Uiis morning.Roger Holes, 21, of Rockville was pronounced dead at Uie Frederick Memorial Hospital stiortlybefore 2 a.m. today after being brought fiom Uie accident scene by Uie MU Airy Volunteer Fire Company ambulance.Holes was a passenger in a car driven by his brother, John Holes, 22, also of Rockville. Maryland. State Police at the Westminster Harracks reported Uiat Uie Holes car left the right side of Uie roadway and went out of contiol, crossing Uie roadway to Uie left and overturning several times. Three other passengers sustained minor injuries and were treated and released from the local hospital.Four Baltimore residents were treated at Frederick Memorial Hospital following a two-car accident on U.S. 340 at Uie Sandy Hook Bridge around midnight last night.Mr. and Mrs. Leon Debusk of Baltimore, Michael Courtway, 14 and his brother Mark, 7, were all released following treatment Troopers from Barracks B of Uie Maryland State Police reported Uiat Mrs. Debusk was operating; Uie vehicle south on U.S. 340 when an unidentified car pulled from Uie Sandy Hook Hoad intersection causing her to swerve to the rightThe Debusk Vehicle hit Uie bridge abutment demolishing Uiccar and Uie Debusk vehicle was hit from beliind by a second souUi-bound car operated by Glen W. Barrackcr of Shenandoah Junction, W. Va. Barracker was not injured and his vehicle sustained approximately $340 damage.The unidentified vehicle reportedly made a U-turn in the U.S. 340 roadway and proceeded into tlic Sandy' Hook Hoad again. State Police arc continuing Uie investi* gaUon.Also Friday night, a 29-year-old Frederick man was slightly injured In an accident near Green's Esso Station on Route 144.Frederick Memorial Hospital authorities identified the man as James Newton Hurst of 161 B O Avenue.
