REPORTED DEAD BY THE WAR DEPT, recently, after having been officially missing in action for over a year, Pvt. James Elwin Hancock, was reported wounded in action in February, 1944, during the Italian campaign. He had landed with the Fifth Army in North Africa in November, 1943, then went on to Sicily and Italy, but was reported missing in France. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Hancock of Cullman Route 6, near Trimble. He is also survived by one brother, Earl, and three sisters,Melva, Dorothy and Carolyn.
