Worth ChastainRites SaturdayFuneral services for Worth W. Chastain. 92. of Anita will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Douglas Young officiating.Mr. Chastain died Tuesday at the Cass County Memorial Hospital. The son of James and Amanda Bohannon Chastain, he was born Sept. 17. 1893. in Lebanon. Mo., and attended LaClede and Lawrence County schools there.He moved to the Oakland area and served with the Army during World War I. On Jan 12. 1926, he was married to Mary Aupperle in Atlantic.Mr Chastain farmed and worked for Cass County until his retirement. He was a longtime member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church. American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Surviving are two brothers. George Chastain of Seymour. Mo., and Clarence Chastain of Clinton, Ind ; and a sister. Flora Dodson of Belton. Mo.He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; three brothers. Elijah. Robert and Jeff Chastain; five sisters. Ina Dodson. Margaret Hill. Molly Roller. Sadie Rodgers and Martha Chastain.Burial will be in the Immanual Lutheran Cemetery near Adair, with military rites at graveside.The Mullen Funeral Home of Anita is in charge of arrangements.
