Bangor, Me, next month as the 132nd Fighter Wing of the Air National Guard begins active duty.Strategic Air Command is to share Dow Base with the Air De-fense CommandThe squadinns ftom Lincoln. Neb., Des Moines and Sioux City, la., under the command of Col J, H. Holmes, will be federalized April l as a part of the Strategic Air Command.Lt. Col. John W, Norvell of the SAC Directorate of Plans Office said the fighter wing, which in SAC, will be a bomber support unit, will come under the jurisdiction of the Eighth Air Force which is headquartered at Cardwell Air Force Base, Foit Worth, TexAlready an advance air guard unit is at SAC headquarters here handling the processing of the others. After April 1. when the unit is formally federalized, the men who haven't been processed will go through the lines Their P-51 planes- will be flown to Bangor before]the men are transferred.
