Her husband,, S. Sgt. Lacy Jones is now in Viet Nam. \ tOthers visiting in the1 J6nes home recently were Mrs. Jones’ sister, Mrs. W. D. Southerland, and Mr. Southerland of Smithfield and her brother, H. E. Daniels, of Alma, Ga. Mr. Daniels was enroute to Micro to visit his mother, Afrs. J. A. Daniels. ;Visiting Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Bridgers Wednesday were Air. and Airs. Douglas Lytch of AT a x t o n. On Thursday, Air. Bridgers’ cousins, Airs. David Hughes and Airs. Chat Hobbs of Tabor City and Airs. Sam Ashley, of Fairmont visited them.Airs. Robert F. Pate and children, Debbie, Tommy and Alike, were at Gibson Wednesday night and attended a barbecue supper at St. Johns ATethodist church.Arch Gentry returned home ATonday from Scotland Alemor-ial Hospital, Laurmburg where he was a patient for a week receiving treatment for influenza and pneumonia.Airs. Evans Jones, Airs. W. B. Jones and little son, Bobby, were in Durham Tuesday when Bobby took a routine medical check-up.Mrs. Lawrence Wright of Gibson spent last weekend with the Robert F. Pate family. On Saturday afternoon, Air. and Airs. Pate and children, Robbie, Tommy, Debbie and Alike, Airs..Wright and Airs. Fletcher. Pate went to Fayetteville where they saw “Sound of Mu-Alrs. Cecil Etheridge of Raleigh was here Saturday and visited her father, Arch Gentry, in Scotland Alemorial Hospital, Laurinburg.Visiting Mrs. Lindsay Nor-ment are her sister. Airs. D. L. Morrell, of Charlotte and Mrs. Victoria Smith of High Point.Mr. and Airs. Joe Adcock visited their grandsons, Kenneth and Frankie Lindsay, in Red Springs Sunday afternoon.sic.Eleanor Currie of Wilmington was at home for the weekend.Reading Course Slated To OpenAt FTI UnitA new course, Reading: Speed and Comprehension, has been scheduled to begin Alarch 28 at the Robeson County Unit of Fayetteville Technical Institute.The institute is located in old Barker-Ten Mile School plant, between Lumberton and St. Pauls.The course makes a concentrated effort to improve the student’s ability to comprehend what he reads by training him to read more rapidly and accurately. Special machines are used for class drill to broaden the span of recognition, to increase eye coordination and work group recognition, and to train for comprehension in lar-j ger units. Reading faults of the individual are analyzed for improvement, and principles of vocabulary building are stressed.Classes will meet two nights a week from 7 to 9 p. m. on Monday and Wednesday nights.The cost of the course will be only a registration fee of$2. The school reserves the right *to cancel the class if there are not enough registrants.Interestec persons may come by the school and register any day or evening except Friday.
