Sherman Miles ofLuther Rouscy, ex-soldier, of 2214 Hunter Street, was found guilty of manslaughter in Criminal Court, Wednesday, in the I killing of Joseph Carter, same address, February 9.Rousey, who will be sentenced, Tuesday, admitted he fired three bullet* at Carter, two of which lodged in his head and chest, after Carter cursed him and threatened to kill him with a butcher knife.Central District police said Rousey walked into the station immediately after the shooting, announced he had killed a man and told them where the body could be found.Witnesses Corroborate ClaimMrs. Rosie Parramore. landlady at the Hunter Street address, told the jury that she was sitting in the basement talking to Rousey as he cooked some bacon when Carter came in and began cursing him.Rousey, taking the story from there, said he told Carter to “cut it out, then went upstairs to get his gun, returned and fired one shot into the ceiling to scare Carter. When thit didn't work, he said, he fired the other three shots.Convicted of manslaughter in 1940, Rousey served two years in prison.
