Extract of a letter from John Holland, mailer of the fnbvr Harriot, to a gen-• tic man in Philadelphia, dated Cur-racoa, Feb. 4.“ lam very defirons of getting a-way as fait as polliblc,- if, plewfe God, I am fpared from this tnaiade fever, as it is raging very bad among ft the A-meiicans. There is f few left, that it is hardly pofiible to bring the veflels home. The American colours have been half malt every day, except one, for fix weeks.*• It is the fame ditorder that was in Philadelphia ; well at night, dead in •the mornicg. There was a fupercargo died yefterday ; he was well and hearty when he arrived, and has been fix days in port. 1 take every precaution t,hat lays in my power. I keep my people on hoard, being a fct or good tteady men, by which I am in hopes we lhall eicapem The man of War buried 135 men in thefpace of ten days.*’
