On Tuesday evening, at the residence, of C. R. Powell, east of this city, occurred the death of Henry Kauffman from apoplexy, at the age of 73 years,-i months and 14 days” He'.waa born in Lancaster county, Pa., and in Sept!I812 rwaa married to. Eliza, Hartra an,-of.. that county. In 1817 he moved to Clark Co., Ohio, and in 1851 he and his famiVOarahave lived until last Spring, when Mr. Kauffman sold • hia place-in-tlie-Pirst ward, and since then he. and his wife have lived with their children. Of the six children,’three are ’ llvingT Sa’rah Moore, the only daughter, in Lyons Co., Iowa, and two sous, Clayton and Solomon, in Chicago. lie came here on a visit to his old friends and while at C. It, Powell's last January he was taken sick, and-Temained~th8re_until' his death. He was well known by all our citizens, as he kept a vegetable and fruit garden here for mauy years, and morning and evening carried what he had to sell round to hia customers. He was known as an: upright and honest man, doing unto others as he would be done by. ......
