Ilery F Potter, 61Loved spending time with familySentinel EnterpriseHIGH POINT. N.C. - Ellery F. Potter,61, of 106 Briggs St., High Point, N.C., formerly of Winchendon and Fitchburg, died on Friday morning, March 14, at the home of his brother in Denton, N.C., after a short illness.He was born in Gardiner, Maine, on Jan.28, 1947, the son of Eleanor F. (Dyer) Potter of Winchendon and the late Max E. Potter, and lived in High Point, N.C., since 1995.Ellery was a 1965 graduate of Oakmont Regional High School in Ashburnham, and entered the United States Army following his graduation. He proudly served in Vietnam and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Combat Infantry Badge and the Bronze Medal with a V device.After his discharge, Ellery worked as a shipper and receiver at Asher Pants Co. in Fitchburg for nearly 20 years until the company closed. After moving to North Carolina, he worked in shipping and receiving for DarXRan Co. in High Point for 12 years. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in High Point, N.C., and the Denton Wesleyan Church in Denton, N.C., where he served as an usher Ellery also sang in the Lost and Found Southern Gospel Group. His hobbies included playing darts and fishing. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family.In addition to his mother, Ellery leaves three daughters, Lori A. Potter of Winchendon. Kellv E. Boucher of Lunen-burg and Cristy L. Guy and her husband, Victor, of Fitchburg; one brother, Robert M. Potter and his wife, Jane, of Denton. N.C.; six grandchildren, Joshua Daoust, Shelby Boucher, Josiah Potter, Serafina Guy, Alexander Guy and Kimberly Chandler, as well as several nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces.POTTER Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 20. at 10 a.m. in the Snow-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central St., Winchendon. Pastor George Small will officiate. Burial will be in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon. Calling hours in the funeral home will be on Wednesday. March 19, from 6-8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Friends of Veterans Memorial Cemetery, RO. Box 476, Winchendon Springs. MA 01477.
