iux iuh uuuuiu^. mm enterprise mnow only at a temporary stand still.Dunlop’s business honor stood at the highest mark. He seemed to take it as a favor that he could do a favor for another. There came a time when he was brought into sympathy with the Saviour in the remark, “Yea, mineown familiar iriend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me” in the defalcation of a confidential clerk; but he and his partner, bis toother Joseph rose instantly to the highest point ofintegrity by drawing their check tothe amount of 930,000 dollars to the credit of the Oak Park Building and Loan Association, which had been thus robbed. The criminal is now serving his time at Joliet Mr. Dunlop united with the First Congregational Church id 1873 and has ever beer a consistent member, developing in character very perceptibly these last several years, as observed by many. His brother trustees, in making their last report, were profuse in their oommendation of his readiness to accommodate theirtreasury. Mr. Dunlop has left his excellent family in independent condition. The children of his first wife, Hannah and Samuel—Old Testament names as also those of his father and mother—and those of the aeoond wife, John and Anna, Mew Testament names, as also those of parents, John and Anna Rankin, are healthy and hardy, a beautiful trust left to Margaret Rankin Dunlop. It is understood that the business will go right along as heretofore and under the old firm name, “Dunlop Bros.” I am sure that the heartiest good cheer will be extended to the survivor, Joseph, by the community as he goes along to bear the double burden and to use his excellent institution for the benefit of the people who need banking facility.Joseph E.
