JOHN—Not too long ago Mrs. Howard Gray Jr. of St. John was steering and barking orders like a ship’s captain.And that’s exactly what she was—in the Pacific Ocean, yet.The ship was the giant aircraft carrier, USS Kearsarge, Mrs. Gray’s son, Captain Paul N. (Bill) Gray, is the Kearsarge's commanding officer.Mrs. Gray took over her son’s post during Family Day aboard the ship.
