One report said this was the first trip overseas.His wife, the former Mips Willie Ruth Mackey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Mackey of Jackson, has been residing in New York to be near her husband, but is returning home.Mr. Cook is one of about one hundred men supplied to the armed forces by the Pepperton Cotton Mills.He is a member of a widely known Butts county family hnd had a large circle of friends throughout thecommunity.Friends of the family sympathizewith them in the suspense but fervently hope good news will be received later.
