IN MISSISSIPPI NOWCalvin Folkers Trans f erred From Alabama—Thinks of “Old Home.”In a letter to the World-Journal, under date of March 6th, Calvin Folkers, one of our boys” who has worn the soldier's uniform of Uncle Sam during the past year and longer, having been transferred to several' camps, now stationed at Camp McCain, Mississippi, he writes: Dear George and. all;—* * * I meant to have written long ago, and give you my change of address, but with all the commotion and work and all, Ijust didn’t get to it. I’ve been gone from Camp Rucker, Ala., since November 14th, arrived at Camp McCain, Miss., Nov. 15th. This is just a new camp, not fully completed when we got here. Up until about two weeks ago we had no recruits. Now we have plenty. Before the recruits arrived we were on a communication maneuver over in Louisiana and Texas. Now we are all set to start in a full stretch of basic training. I haven’t had a furlough as yet, surely would like to have one though. How’s qveryone in the Big City”— Ackley, by name. I imagine it’s fairly : quiet with so many men gone. I received the World-Journa! today. It’s pretty nie.e to sit down on your bunk and take in a little of the home town nows. Thanks again for the paper. Good luck to all.Sincerely yours,Sgt. Cal.”
