Fern Hawks MakesTour Of Europe With Pilot Groupt1:fFtCFlt;cMiss Fern Hawks, publicity director of station WHBF, Rock Island, left Monday by plane on an international goodwill tour to Europe as representative of the Pilot clubs of district 12, comprising Illinois, Iowa and Missouri.Miss Hawks, who has several relatives in Galva, is a daughter of the late George P. Hawks, of Aledo, brother of the late C. H. Hawks, of Galva.The group is traveling by Trans- 3 world Airlines, with Rome as the first scheduled stop In addition to Italy { they will visit Switzerland, Germany, Holland, Belgium, France and England and will spend Easter Sunday at Vi-moutieres, a small village near Paris that is being rehabilitated by the Pilot clubs.The American pilots have been designated by the state department as unofficial ambassadors of good will and a meeting with United Nations officials was scheduled prior to departure from New York. Officials of the ECA have arranged special meetings for the Pilot club members in the Ruhr district of western Gel-many, at The Hague and with the ENIT in Rome.
