T-Sgt. OlerichGiven RecognitionT.-Sgt. Duane A. Olerich. son of Mrs. Hilda E. Olerich of R.R. 2, Glidden, has been recognized for helping his unit earn the Aerospace Defense Command (ADC) “A” Award.Sgt. Olerich is an air operations specialist in the 701st Radar Squadron at Ft. Fisher Air Force Station, N.C.The squadron a part of ADC which protects the U.S. against hostile aircraft and missiles — was cited for exceptional operational effectiveness and outstanding mission performance.The sergeant attended Varina (Iowa) High School and completed requirements for his diploma after entering the service.His wife, Viola, is the daughter of Mrs. Edna Davidson of Glidden.
