The school at Qnakerdom has been closed two weeks 011.account of the illness of the teacher. Miss. Duncan, of Valparaiso. Many of the pupils have been ill.Win. Cordell lias moved here from the Gust farm at Clear lake and lias taken the Stahenow house on Kail road street. Mr. Cordell's family consists of his mother and daughter.Mrs. Abby Cole writes us from Flint, Mich., that her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Calhetzer. are moving to Elkhart, and to change their paper to 1510 Tenth street, that city.tMr. and Mrs. Alf. McCarty moved to Westville from Pinhook last week, and are oceuxiying tlie Smith house on Railroad street. Their son. Win. McCarty. is reported seriously ill at his home in Laporte.Town Clerk Recktenwall took Saturday and Monday off as manager of the Wm. Augustine store. while he had a tussle with a cold. John returned from a visit to Gary a day or so before, and you all know what that means.Mrs. David Rapp, of Otis, has been a patient at the hospital the past two weeks, and during her absence from home four grandchildren of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Stump, of Westville. have been with them, returning home today.Macy Barnard, notice of whose return from France was made in our last issue, arirved at the homo of his mother, here last: week.
