DAR Chapter Honors World War I NursesA birthday party was givenrecently by members of the Fort Loudoun Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, for two “adopted” friends at Newton D. Baker Hospital, Women’s Cottage, Martinsburg, W.Va.The honorees were Miss Dorothy Spence and Miss Elizabeth Haney, who served as nurses in World War I. They have lived at Newton Baker since 1946 and 1947, respectively.Those taking part in the entertainment were members of the Veterans committee of the DAR, Mrs. Wilbur Ennis and Mrs. Marshall Klingen-smith.Others were Mrs. Ernest Webber, Mrs. E.C. Sterling and Mrs. Norman Barr, all of Winchester; Mrs. Russel Kaplan, Mrs. Lawrence Robert. and Miss Ruth Royston, all of Berryville and Mrs. Margaret Harris of Hagerstown, Md.Miss Spence had a number of her paintings hung in the lounge.SPECIAL CARE Make-up shouldn’t beremoved with soap and water.* A special lotion and water requires less scrubbing.
