Meantime, Charles Cassilly Cbok, wearied of the disturbing game of politics, had gone in for the genT tier game of golf, and when the subject of * clubhouse was broached he offered tosell to the club his former residence on thewest side of Qlifton avenue, opposite Bur-.Jjel Woods Park. The work of converting ihis two-story brick residence into a club-house will be commenced at once. It is situated on an elevation, and the surrounding grounds will be utilized in part for lawn tennis, Vnd also afford a portion of the gdClinks. Players will be obliged tocross the street-to complete the round ofthe links in Burnet Woods'and will hawe to carry the balls across, instead of driving them over. But this is a small consideration. and will be practically no inconvenience, for the caddie can be called upon. It will obviate all chances of driving the ball through the windows of a passing cable car and remove the possibility of hitting an innocent pedestrian withthe flying missile.The clubhouse will be entirely remodeled? and refurnished, with reception, dining and smoking rooms, dressing ro^oras, shower .baths and the like. Whether a professional instructor will be engaged for novices or not is to be an after consideration.
