Mr. Emmert Calvin ‘Lucky’ Earp Jr.Mr. Emmert Calvin Lucky” Earp Jr., 65, of Damascus and formerly of Myrtle Beach, S.C., died suddenly at his home Monday, Feb. 28, 2011. He was the husband of the late Pauline Randall, the late Sherry Fitzwater and the late Virginia Sheppard.Born Sept. 16, 1945, in Maryland, he was the son of the late Emmert C. Earp Sr. and the late Dorothy Viola Smith.Lucky attended Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville. He was a master mechanic, having worked on engines since he was 9 years old. He spent seven days a week under a hood, and he was a rock and foundation of a very large family. His camaraderie and skills were' always in high demand.He is survived by a sister, Helen Cook and husband Junior; three children, Timothy C. Earp, Lorie Smith and husband John, and James Sheppard and wife Cathy; six grandchildren, James, Shelby, Alena, Matthew, Draven and Layla; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins,friends and other relatives.A memorial service is planned for a later date.Arrangements are by Resthaven Funeral Services, Skkot Cody, RA., Frederick.
