Hancock, the ceremony being performed . in |‘Washington county, Indiana . In 1860 James Hancock and wife came to Tipton county, locating on a farm in Cicero township. They were the parents of To children, of which Thomas J. ; Hancock. Hancock enlisted in the Union army in 1861, but was honorably discharged in November, 1862, on account of general disability. In 1863 he married Mary E. Law and followed farming until 1879, when he located in Tipton and embarked in the real estate business. - They were the parents of 10 children, seven of whom are deceased. Those surviving-are Cora, widow of James Bay, and Charles Hancock, of Indianapolis, and Capitola, wife of E. E. Pritchard, of Tipton.; Thomas J. Hancock died in 1910, age 67, and his wife In 1922/ age 76.
