Flier Is Killed VIn Air Accident 1William .1. McGowan. second lieutenant in the air corps, was killed near the Meridian, Miss . base when his parachute fouled on a plane he was unable to land because of bad weather, according to a war department announcement. McGowan, 23, was a native of Oshkosh, Wis., and attended Oshkosh State Teachers college. His parents now live in Alhambra, Calif.
