Soldier Has BothLegs AmputatedEldred Eagle. — Last week* Thursday, Mrs. D. D. Feheley received lour letters from her husband, Sgt. D. D. Feheley, who is a German prisoner or war, after he was reported missing October 7, 1944 over Austria.In one of the letters, not dated, he informed her that as a resuit of what happened, apparently when he was forced down, it Ml been necessary to amputate both his legs below the knee. He said he was receiving good care and that the wounds were healing nicely.The other i(tase letters were dated November 1, 9 and 23, Thanksgiving Day, but go v? no deHs':what’ liad happened'.' .....Sgt. Feheley was a radio operator gunner bn a B-24 Liberator Bomber in Italy. .His family and friends are hoping i hat he may soon be sent home with soldiers repatriated from Germany,
