Destroj'cr Woolsey which was rammed by the stf^amer St^el Inventor, 125 miles north of Panama. A message from naval authorities to that affect has been re-cei\ed by his father, Herman Now-adsky, who livt^s at 1103 North Ninth street w'est.Now'adsky w’as nineteen years old His father is employed at the Rock Islarwl railroad shops in this city. Ueo, previous to his enlistment in the navy, worked at the Sinclair packing house and on farms in this vicinity.The 'last lettef received by his father, it is said. w*as several weeks ago and he w^rote that he was starting on ft cruise and not to writ? until hf’ard from again. He was a jHTpular young man and had many friends in this city.Nowadsky was born on a farm near Ossian and was five years of age when his mother died.
