ACCEPT MEDALS — During a brief ceremony Saturday afternoon in the District Courtroom, Mr. and Mrs. Sefereno Torres, parents of Marine Pfc. Joe Torres, were presented with the Purple Heart medal anf. the National Defense Service Medal certificate Torres was killed February 26th in the vicinity of Phu Bai, Viet Nam while participating in action against the Viet Cong. Making the presentation was Major C G Eaton of the USMCR Training Center, Naval Air Station in Corpus Christi. Pictured, left to right, are Major Eaton, Mrs Torres, Mr. Torres and Sgt Major W.
