Festivities To Include TourVisitors at the RCA “open house” Saturday at the Cambridge Plant will enter through the same door that has carried thousands of persons across the threshold of the factory.Many previous visitors have been job seekers, many have been representatives of the United States Armed Forces, and numerous others have called at the plant on various other business mattersLeaving the beautifully-paneled reception area, the Saturday visitors wiii move into the plant Purchasing Department where they will be told of the wide variety of items that must tie purchased to carry out operations here. These range from ver simple items to very elab orate components and highly-specialized test equipment itemsThe next stop v\ ill be the Personnel Department which is responsible for employment activities at the Cambridge facility. Visitors will be shown the distribution of employment for the plant. Here they will also become acquainted with the systems and procedures activity which is responsible for establishing procedures under which the plant operates.Progressing past the plantwork for the Minuteman missile ground communications system. Visitors will actually pass through the air showers used by employes each day while entering and leaving this work areaAfter leaving the white room, the group will pass by the Electronics Data Processing Center where the new RCA-301 data processing equipment will soon be located. A photograph of this equipment will be shown since the computer will not arrive at the local plant for a few more weeks.The entire M inuteman system will be displayed, along with the finished product theCambridge plant produces, showing how this product fitsinto the entire Minuteman missile complex.Visiting groups will then pass by the Manufacturing office areas and through the Material Operations storage section, Also in this area will be theplant shipping, receiving, and Purchase Material and Inspec tion (PMI) activities.At the conclusion of the con ducted tour, visitors will take time out for refreshments before departing from the RCA plant.
