He has several matters of importance upon which to speakLast night the joint l/abor Day committees of the Joplin Trades assembly and the Building Trades council met to consider the question of the proper way to hold the big Labor Da celebration, September 5. The committee authorized its chairman to sign an agreement with the Sehifferdec.ker Electric Park Co., for the use of the park on that date.The committee on invitations announced that the unions of Pittsburg, Ft. Scott, Girard, Parsons, Carthage, Monett and Wobb City had been asked to 'participate. H. H. Hall and Charles Fear w'ere appointed to visit these cities 1n person and urge a large attendance.Invitations have been extended to j 1 nine prominent men to address the crom'ds at the Joplin celebration. Among those invited are Governor Hertar+ S. Hadley, Senator A. B. Cummins, of Iowa, and James A. Reed, of Kansas City.Among the various unions that have appointed subcommittees to aid in the entertainment are the Brewery workers, the Barbers, the Typos, the Brick layers. the Carpenters and the Tron Moulders. Each union has named a committee of three.
