Telfjraph Herald photoms shiny $23,000 Spartan Executive Airship, framed against billowing fleecy clouds at Dubuque’suncipal Airport, was flown here Saturday by Edmund McKeon (inset) on a visit to his mother, Mrs.Helen McKeon of Centralia. McKeon, formerly of Centralia, is now employed in Mexico. He will f y to San Francisco from here, and then to Mexico later this week. A few years ago, while testing a parachute ship, the chute became entangled in the plane, causing McKeon to “bail out.” His own chute failed to open until he was 500 feet from the ground, and then he saw the ship diving directly at him. He managed to maneuver the chute to avoid the ship, which crashed just 100 feet from where he landed. McKeon flew executives of the SUgar company in Mexico which employs him to Chicago from Mexico in the plane pictured above.
