Up to 11 a.m. Sunday, the amateur operators had made 120 .contacts in Wisconsin, North and South Carolina, Minnesota, Missouri, Iowa, Michigan, Ohio and the Canal Zone.Purpose of the field day, members of the group explained, is to demonstrate the effectiveness of emergency communications as might be experienced in a national disaster.Power was supplied by a gasoline motor, independent of commercial power.Officers of the Oshkosh Amateur Radio Club are Charles Waters, president; Elmer Erickson, vice president, and Alan Webster, sec-netary-treasurer.
