Walk, lias been awarded the Bronze Star Medal posthumously.The award was made for meritorious achievement in connection with military operations against the enemy from October 22 to November 1,3344.Lieutenant Walk was reported missing in action December 10 in the Battle of the Belgian Bulge while he was serving with combat engineers. Later lie was reported killed in action January 14 while a prisoner of the Germans. A fellow officer informed the Walks their son was killed when Allied planes staged a Mealing attack on the train on which he was a prisoner.
